Join me, Simon Hoten for this 5 night yoga and meditation retreat at Fawakay Villas, located on the outskirts of Marrakesh. Practice mindful hatha yoga, conscious breathing, meditation, iRest yoga nidra and deep relaxation during our time together. 

This retreat is suitable for everyone, whether you are new to these practises or experienced, and it gives you the opportunity to learn new skills and / or deepen your practise and knowledge, whilst meeting friendly like-minded people. 

 

A retreat provides a valuable opportunity to take time out from your usual routine and reconnect with yourself. Engaging in yoga, meditation and mindfulness practices will support you in feeling relaxed and rejuvenated and Simon will be sharing with you simple, yet powerful tools to reduce stress, support your wellbeing and peace in your everyday life.  

 

There will be 2 yoga classes each day plus morning meditation and conscious breathing.

Our first yoga class will be at 8:15am on Wednesday which follows on from our opening ceremony. We will then sit down together for a delicious breakfast.

Each morning Simon will invite you to morning meditation at 7:45am followed by mindful breath-centred slow flowing hatha yoga practices at 8:15am before breakfast.

We will enjoy our second session of the day at 5:30pm which will be slower, gentler and particularly nourishing which will include pranayama (breath techniques), restorative yoga and/or iRest yoga nidra plus deep relaxation. Each day will finish with dinner at around 7:30pm.

There will be plenty of free time too, when you can sunbathe or swim in the gorgeous swimming pool, nap or read a book, enjoy the stunning sunsets, take a trip into the city or go on one of the wonderful optional excursions.

Retreat Location

Relaxation is the speciality of this calming oasis a 15-minute drive from, but seemingly a world away, bustling Marrakesh. Made up of five sand-hued villas and three eco-villa suites sprinkled around 3.5 acres of rose-filled gardens, this boutique complex promises pure relaxation and rejuvenation. Pebble pathways lead to the superbly appointed individual villas and suites, all of them designed to allow guests to be as private or social as they wish.

Classes and practices are held outdoors in the scented grounds, and guests can also avail themselves of the outdoor pool, spa, hammam and the many seats and hammocks around the property. Our Retreats include breakfast and a 3 course dinner,  a lunch and snack menu is also available with authentic North African dishes prepared using fresh local ingredients by the resident chef.

When it comes to exploring, there are a number of excursions available to book outside of the Retreat sessions including a trip to Marrakesh’s souks, while the nearby Atlas Mountains draw guests with their peaceful hiking trails, waterfalls, and Berber villages.

Simon HotenYoga, Meditation, Breathwork teacher and Yoga Therapist

 

Simon has been practising & studying yoga and meditation since 2003, and teaching since 2010, He is a Senior teacher with Yoga Alliance Professionals, British Wheel of Yoga accredited, an iRest™ Teacher (iRest yoga nidra / guided meditation) and Yoga Therapist.

His encouraging teaching style emphasises the breath, healthy alignment, flow of movement, building strength & flexibility, while also providing an opportunity for deep relaxation. As a yoga therapist, he draws on the latest research, including neuroscience, to support those working with physical challenges, stress and anxiety. He pays careful attention to each student’s needs and offers adjustments, variations and modifications to support them in deepening their practise.

He teaches a variety of yoga classes in London where he lives, including slow flowing hatha yoga, vinyasa flow, gentle and slow / chair yoga, yoga nidra and restorative yoga. He also runs meditation courses for beginners as well as experienced meditators.

Simon has been organising and leading retreats since 2019, and his intention is to create a nurturing and inclusive space that cultivates joy and personal growth through the practices of yoga, meditation and breathwork.
